April 2009 : Busy month! We had a very nice trip to Boston in early April. It was the first family trip since Ahna was born. Leia was so excited to visit Leverett House again and we had such a nice day in Harvard Square. Once we were back home, we arranged something with friends every weekend and enjoyed the beautiful Spring.

Potluck @ Leia's school : Leia, Mommy and Daddy made Challah and red bean paste buns to share with other friends and parents. After eating yummy dinner, we moved to the garden room to entertain parents. Garden room kids went first and sang a couple of songs. We played "caps for sale". I played a naughty monkey :-) who stole caps from the peddler.

Summer 2008 with Jaeyeon's Family : We were very happy that the entire Seoul family came to Seattle to see us. Although Hajin's family only stayed for a week, they managed to pack lots of things in the seven days (three day trip to Victoria, shopping, a day trip to Mt. Reiner, and Seattle city tour, etc). We really miss them --- please stay longer next time!

Halloween 2008 : Halloween party at Chestnut Montessori School: Leia started the school in October 2008. The school has nice wood floors, large windows bringing in lot of light in the classroom (which is important in Seattle) and wonderful faculty and students. Leia with the other eight founding :) student members of the school had a blast at the Halloween party.

Two Trips to Cincinnati 2007 : Baby Benjy was born in August. Jaeyeon's parents were in town in September. Grandma Sylvia passed away in October. Our first trip was to see Benjy and the family with Jaeyeon's parents. Everyone had a great time. Sadly, Grandma Sylvia was very ill in our second trip. She passed away on October 12th. Although we were very sad, it was good to see so many cousins and families that we haven't seen for a while. Not knowing what was going on, Leia had a blast even in the second trip.

Leia's First Brunch Party 2007 : Daddy suggested that he would invite a few kids for a brunch party. I said why not. Eli (who I've seen a few times in the nearby parks), Ayden, Emma, and Ryan came. I was sorry that Seth didn't make it. Hope he feels better soon. I had toys moved in the living room for the guests and let them play with any toys they liked. It was a lot of fun watching them playing with my toys. However, it's odd that they didn't finish Daddy's awesome banana crepes. Not to hurt Daddy's feeling, I finished Ryan's and Eli's after finishing mine. YUM!

Good-bye Boston 2007 : Finally, we left Bean Town for variety of salmons. Only a week was all we had to say good-bye to friends, families, restaurants and the Charles that we loved for the past 7+ years. While we won't miss the weather, we already miss Leverett, Harvard Square, sushi, dimsum and so many streets where we walked, biked and drove together.

Tobago 2007 : It took almost 58 hours to get to Tobago. Every travel related trouble that you could imagine happened---we were denied boarding at the last minute, had our luggage lost and were stranded in the airport for hours..). However, when we finally arrived at the villa, we knew that it was worth the troubles.

Leia's 1st Birthday Party 2007 : 돌(dol) means rotate in Korean. Leia had a first Dol party with family and friends. We celebrated that Leia had gone through the first twelve months and rotated back to the month that she began her life. Traditionally, the birthday baby is presented with several items and asked to pick one. The people then talk about the baby's future based on the item that she picked. Leia first picked a golf ball that 외할아버지(maternal grandpa) sent. She then picked a bag of five dates, which represent fertility!

Trip to Brazil 2006 : Mommy and Daddy took me to Rio de Janeiro. Tal from Sprint sang the spider song for me and I met a girl at the banquet who was just a few months older than I. I even took a peak when Mommy was giving a talk. However, I was a little upset when Daddy took me out of the conference room when I was asking Mommy some questions! The Brazilians were super friendly to me: a guy from a per-kilo restaurant sneaked in a fried cheese ball for me. Whenever not too tired, I did my best to smile back at those whom we ran into on the street. Among the places that we visited, I liked the Sugarloaf the most. Daddy did a splendid job carrying me in the DES (a.k.a Daddy Enslavement System). It was fun to watch Mommy and Daddy taking pictures of each other (see the jumping pictures below). Sometimes they are cute.

Leia's 1st Trip 2006 : Leia, Stuart, Jaeyeon, and Jaeyeon's mom had a wonderful vacation in Cancun, Mexico. Despite our concerns, Leia proved herself as a superb traveler. Presidente Intercontinental has a beautiful beach and pools, where we enjoyed reading, walking, and swimming. It also offers delicious guacamole and and tasty quesadilla.
